The PTO is made up of parent and teacher volunteers, who plan, organize and execute events to help support the school community.  We appreciate any help we can get so please join us at our PTO meetings.  The next meeting date will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Prairie View School Library on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.  For a complete listing of all the upcoming meeting dates, click here.

Support Your School

 

Benefit Nights – Join us for a “no cook” night while raising funds for our school!  Our supporting restaurants for this year include Boston Market, Red Robin, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Maciano’s.  

 

Bingo Night – This spring event is a fun-filled night for families to play bingo together and earn prizes.

 

Brick Sales – You have a chance to be a part of Prairie View’s history by making a lasting imprint.  Print the attached form and send it to school with your child’s teacher in an envelope marked, “PTO Brick Sale.”  Please note, bricks are installed in the spring of each year.

 

Box Tops for Education & Labels for Education Clipping Box Tops and Soup Labels can earn money for Prairie View!  Send them to school with your child in a baggie marked with your child’s name to get classroom credit.  Who will win the classroom collection competition?!

 

Carson’s Coupon Books – We have partnered with Carson Pirie Scott to offer coupon books in return for a donation to Prairie View PTO.  We offer these coupon books in the fall and spring. 

 

Fall Fun Fest – This event is held in the fall and is an opportunity for Prairie View families to play games and win prizes.

 

Family Movie Night – This event is held at Prairie View in the fall and is free to Prairie View families.  Families are encouraged to bring their blankets and pillows as they curl up to watch a kid-friendly movie in the gym.  We offer popcorn and drinks for purchase.

 

Family Reading Night – This event is held in the spring to promote literacy at home and at school.  This event also includes a used book sale to support the PTO.  Set your gently used books aside and consider donating them to our sale.

 

Good Search – Select Prairie View Grade School as your cause and every time you do a Web search from www.goodsearch.com and they will donate money to our school.

 

Market Day – Order your favorite Market Day items while supporting your school.  Don’t forget, you can order online at www.marketday.com.  Our school number is 2139.  Click here to see the Market Day pick up schedule for the 2011/2012 school year.

 

Meijer – Sign up for a Meijer reward card for savings and help Prairie View earn extra money towards education.

 

Spirit Wear – Show your school spirit by wearing Prairie View apparel on Fridays!  Send the order with payment to school with your child in an envelope marked, “PTO Spirit Wear.”  Orders are placed in the spring and fall.  We also offer some cash and carry items at select events.

Target’s Take Charge of Education – Enroll in Target’s Take Charge of Education and Target will donate 1% of your purchases to our school.

 

Walk-a-Thon – Students earn necklace charms throughout the school year for completing healthy choices and activities as we lead up to our Spring Walk-a-Thon.  Click on the links below for more information about this month's mission.
